After a closure of about two years, the "Silli"opened again at the beginning of November 2016 and two weeks later the restaurant was re-opened and then the hotel rooms.
The whole place has been modernised and is bright and comfortable and the small public bar has a very welcoming open fire, is a part of the hotel and restaurant.
Three handpumps, one in the public bar which is very popular with the local community, and the other two in the lounge (restaurant) bar but (wisely) reducing to one during the quieter months.
It benefits from its closeness to the station, with the level crossing and station just a hop, skip and a jump away.
Many thanks to Norman MacKenzie (Edinburgh CAMRA) for the picture.
