Bridge 300 - Celebrating the 300 Year Anniversary of the Carrbridge Packhorse Bridge

2017 celebrates the 300th anniversary of one of the most photographed, iconic stone bridges in the Highlands.

Starting the celebrations on the weekend of the 19th/20th/21st of May with live music and various community events including a craft fair and a craft ale festival, featuring the best cask ales from the Highland's & Islands, including Cairngorm Brewery, Cromarty Brewery, Windswept, Two Thirsty Men, Orkney Brewery and probably a few more. The weekend will be packed with entertainment and the best food and drinks from around region to kick of our celebration year in the way that a Highland village should.

The old Packhorse Bridge was built in 1717, and has stood the test of time (and few floods), so the community of Carrbridge has organised a few events throughout the year to commemorate their treasured monument, details of which can be found on the Carrbridge community social media channels or website, carrbridge.com.

The World Porridge Making Championships, the Scottish Chainsaw Carving Competition, the Official Scottish 9-Hole Open Golf Championship as well as many other events and the Bridge 300 celebrations are all happening here this year, so stay in touch on facebook, twitter, or at carrbridge.com for more details.
