Cairn Gorm Mountain Walk and Social

Saturday 13 May 2017

Cairn Gorm Mountain Walk followed by late afternoon/early evening Social

Wild Pub Walks (a new CAMRA Pub Walks book) by Daniel Neilson will be published on 22nd May.

The book is aimed at hill walkers who enjoy long days out followed by a great pint in a great pub. The areas covered are: Peak District; Lake District; Highlands & Islands; Scottish Borders; Snowdonia; Pembrokshire/South Wales; North York Moors National Park and Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The walks vary in the level of challenge, from long walks in lower-lying areas to Grade 1 scrambles.

Cairn Gorm is one of three walks included from our Branch area and we are celebrating the launch of the book with an ascent of the mountain.

Four Aviemore pubs - the Lochain Bar at Glenmore Lodge, the Winking Owl, Cairngorm Hotel, and the Old Bridge Inn - are the hostelries where Daniel suggests you may wish to quench your thirst at the end of your walk.

We are offering two options, one for the seasoned hill walker and a second for those who enjoy a less energetic way of spending a day in the mountains.

Cairn Gorm Mountain Walk - Option 1

Cairn Gorm Mountain Walk - Option 2

Please note that numbers for both walks are limited and so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Closing date for bookings is Friday 5th May.

Note: ALL are welcome to join our event, non-members and members alike.
