See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

After the Cairngorm Mountain ski area opened in the early 60's, the area quickly became a haven for avid skiers and novices alike.

To meet the new demand, the Rothiemuchus Estate granted land amounting to 65-acres in June 1964 and a hotel and bunkhouse were built and opened in 1965.

Rolling on 50 years, the hotel has been transformed several times, and through various mergers and acquisitions is what it is today.

The Woodshed bar was an original fixture in 1965 and was refurbished in 2006. The branch was later advised that two hand pumps were offering Cairngorm ales on a continuing basis.

More reports of quality and selection are welcome.

[Update 7 Nov 2022: The Woodshed Bar has re-opened, with advertised opening hours from 4pm Tuesday to Sunday - although this is apparently not always the case. "Very good" Cairngorm Stag was reportedly available the last week in October, and Cairngorm Trade Winds is always available at the main hotel bar.]
