Be prepared for stunning scenery, absolutely no traffic noise and a very warm welcome at what is (probably) one of the most remote restaurants n the UK. Bottled beers are available (Inveralmond etc) Corrour Estate do not permit vehicles and access is by rail, foot, horse or mountain bike over private estate roads. At 411m (1350ft) Corrour is acknowledged to be the most remote and highest main line railway station in the UK and was opened in August 1894 to serve Corrour Lodge at the far end of Loch Ossain which is still used today. The rail journey takes 45 minutes from Fort William or 3 hours from Glasgow and all points in between. The night sleeper from London (to Fort William) stops at about 09:00. If you are walking or cycling in, Fort William is 20 miles and Spean Bridge 15 miles. There are three rooms available in the Old Signal Box, these can be booked through Corror Estate. There is also a Scottish Youth Hostel a mile away. The facilities are open to residents from 08:30 in the morning for breakfast and light lunches around mid day. Try the easy but spectacular 8 mile circular walk / ride round Loch Ossain on estate tracks to work up an appetite before dining and getting the train back, unless of course you are staying the night! Please Note:- opens seasonally from 15 March to the end of October 2018. But BEFORE visiting, and to avoid disappointment, contact to confirm they will be open!
